Teaching and Learning for Librarians: A Community of Practice

Standard

Between September 2014 and June 2015, I participated in Sara Miller’s Teaching and Learning for Librarians Community of Practice. This group of librarians met monthly to discuss a set of assigned readings on the topic of information literacy and discussed implementing these principles, including the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy, in our library instruction sessions. Being able to share what I have been doing in the classroom and hear what my colleagues are doing was a very valuable opportunity. I greatly appreciated the feedback that I received from the group and enjoyed sharing my own opinions on instruction. Participating in this Community of Practice helped me become more thoughtful in my approach to information literacy classes.
