On May 19, 2015 I was on a panel at the MSU Libraries for the ARL Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce (IRDW). Each presenter was asked to provide a tip related to the topic “How I survived my first year as an Academic Librarian.” My tip explained how to go about building a peer support network and why such a network is important to helping you towards a successful career as an academic librarian.
