Chair, December 2025-March 2026
In response to the ALA directive requiring all round tables to evaluate their activities and submit assessment rubrics, I proposed that the GODORT Steering Committee approve an ad hoc committee to review and streamline GODORT’s committee structure. As chair of this three-person group, I led weekly meetings focused on a comprehensive evaluation of existing committees. The committee ultimately recommended a more efficient organizational model: merging committees with overlapping or synergistic missions and converting standing committees that address topical issues into interest groups.
I have received uniformly positive feedback on the proposed changes. At Annual 2026, I spoke with numerous past GODORT Chairs, all of whom expressed strong support for the proposed restructuring. They noted that it makes excellent sense and effectively addresses longstanding issues left unresolved by previous reorganizations.
