I finished out my term on the Bylaws Committee in August 2021. I volunteered to serve on
the Handbook Language Review Committee to review the Librarian Handbook and remove non-
inclusive language, update outdated policies, clarify certain policies, and migrate the handbook to
Confluence for ease of updating and access. Additionally, I served as chair of a reappointment
committee in the fall.

- Volunteered as a member of the Handbook Language Review Committee
- Committee was tasked with removal of gendered, discriminatory, or exclusionary
language; update “Director” to “Dean;” ensure policies are accurate and current;
remove outdated information; update links to university policies; update policy on
university equipment leaving the library; resolve any conflicting language for
professional leave and sabbatical policy; add language on secondary assignments;
clarify and add updated policies regarding when job changes are sent to the Faculty
Attairs Committee (FAC); and migrate the Handbook to Confluence for ease of
updating in the future.
I presented an update on this committee’s work at the Fall 2021 Library Faculty
Assembly.
Catalog Development Advisory Working Group (DAWG)
Member, 2023-2025
- CDAWG members help gather and interpret feedback about the catalog; help the development
team prioritize features to improve the catalog; and assist in relaying information to the wider
staff. CDAWG members meet with the development team at each sprint review (as often as twice
a month and otherwise may meet independently each month as needed.
