  • Member, Working Group on Genre Headings for Video Game Cataloging, 2016-Present
    • Analyzed all possible genre headings for video game cataloging (I was assigned with identifying and analyzing all terms that start with “M”). After analysis of our assigned letter(s), reviewed and provided feedback for all terms.
    • Creates authority records for proposed terms to be submitted to Library of Congress (LC) to consider adding these genre headings to LCGFT (Library of Congress Genre/Form Terms). If LC decides to not add these terms to LCGFT, they may be added to the Open Data Registry to allow their usage in cataloging.

Scope Note: Video games which  revolve around music, beats and or rhythm as a core part of their experience. Some feature the control of simulated instruments such as guitars and drums.

Government Documents Round Table (GODORT)

  • Chair, Membership Committee, 2017-2018
    • Engages current and prospective members of GODORT. Plans and organizes GODORT 101 at ALA Annual and facilitates this event. Plans and organizes the GODORT Social at ALA Annual and Midwinter, including soliciting vendor sponsorship. Organizes and facilitates monthly virtual committee meetings. This position is also a member of GODORT Steering and participates in meetings and works with other Steering members on shaping GODORT’s future.
  • Committee member, Nominations Committee, 2016-2017.
    • This elected position solicits nominations for a variety of elected positions in GODORT and for the Federal Depository Library Program’s (FDLP) Depository Library Council (DLC). Ensures submitted documentation for candidates is complete and that candidates meet the necessary criteria for their desired position.
  • Committee member, Membership Committee, 2015-2017.
    • Engages current and prospective members of GODORT. Plans and organizes GODORT 101 at ALA Annual and the GODORT Social at ALA Annual and Midwinter.

New Members Round Table (NMRT)

  • Member Services Director, 2015-2016, re-elected 2016-2018.
    • The Member Services Director is an elected Executive Board position which is responsible for supervising four committees:
      • Endnotes: the peer-reviewed journal for NMRT.
      • Resume Review Service: provides virtual resume review throughout the year and in-person resume review at ALA Annual and Midwinter
      • Mentoring: provides virtual mentoring throughout the year and an in-person mentoring social at ALA Annual.
      • Communications: this committee was previously called Footnotes and was responsible for producing the NMRT newsletter. In 2015 the newsletter was ended and the committee was renamed to match its new responsibilities, which include soliciting and creating content for the NMRT Blog and promoting NMRT events and services through social media.
  • Worked at the NMRT Resume Review Service as a booth greeter and resume reviewer at ALA Annual 2015, as a booth greeter at ALA Midwinter 2016, ALA Annual 2016, ALA Midwinter 2017, and ALA Annual 2017.
  • Committee member, NMRT Professional Development Grant, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
    • The NMRT Professional Development Grant helps provide funding to attend the ALA Annual Conference to one new professional who is actively involved in state and national organizations. On this committee, I sent out calls for applications to various listservs, reviewed received applications, and ranked the applicants based on a set of criteria.
  • Committee member, Endnotes: The Journal of the New Members Round Table, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.
    • Endnotes is a peer-reviewed e-journal published by NMRT. On this committee, I send out calls for articles to listservs, participate in peer reviewing that received articles, and editing the book reviews.
