Exhibits are an important and fantastic way to visually promote the collections of the MSU Libraries. Exhibits allow staff to not only highlight an important topic or event, but also accentuate library collections and bring them to the attention of visitors to the MSU Libraries. I have had the opportunity to create six exhibits at the Main Library. Exhibits are time consuming to create and require careful planning and the assistance from other library staff, such as from Graphic Services.

“Acadia to Zion: 100 Years of the National Park Service.” This exhibit ran from June – August 2016 on 3 West with the purpose of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the creation of the National Park Service. Items from the government documents collection were emphasized in this exhibit.

Unidentified Flying Objects: Flying Saucers, Little Green Men, and Other Extraterrestrial Subjects.” I collaborated with Emily Sanford on this exhibit which ran from July – September 2015.

Preservation: Forestalling the Ravages of Time.” This exhibit was produced with Eric Alstom, Aaron Collie, Devin Higgins, Ranti Junus, and Hailey Mooney and was on display on 4 West from November 2013 — March 2014.

Fifty Years of Doctor Who.” Produced with Suzi Teghtmeyer and on display on the first floor from October — November 2013.

April is Copyright Month.” Produced with Amy Blair and Lynne Woods and on display on the first floor of the Main Library from April — June 2013.

Retracing the Unsinkable: Remembering the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic Disaster.” Produced collaboratively with Holly Flynn in the 2 West exhibit case from April — July 2012.
